Beautiful pic, Bungalow. What is the very pretty mauve one in the background?

OK, after looking at your other pics, that is probably your "Natchitoches Noisette", right?

As a native southerner, how do you pronounce "Natchitoches"?

Hi Annabeth. Thanks for your comment. You are correct- the larger mauve rose behind Clotilde Soupert in the photo is Natchitoches Noisette. I found out a few years ago that I had been mispronouncing "Natchitoches" by stressing it phonetically. Now days I call it "Nakadish" like the Louisiana locals :) She's one of my favorite specimens.

Sadly, I had to remove and destroy my Clotilde Soupert last fall after she starting showing signs of RRD. I lost about 10% of my roses to an infestation of it. I'm really hoping that I got rid of all the infected plants. It was hearbreaking and I don't want to go through it again!
