Lagerfeld flopped over when 1st bought as own-root mid-May. I piled up alkaline clay (broken with gypsum), plus sulfate of potash before the canes can stand up straight. Now in its 3rd year, every cane is straight with 10 buds in less than 4 hrs. of sun on 9/30/19 in zone 5a. Canes are low-thorn and blooms last long in the vase & have more petals once the bush matures. Highly recommend this rose for abundant blooms.
