What a beautiful rose! I just purchased one from Euro Desert Roses and can't wait to see mine in full bloom. I note the anticipated height forGrand-Duc Henri is 2' - 32". Is the width about the same or does it need more space than 3'?

This has been one of the most pleasant surprises of all of the roses I've imported from Europe. Once mine went into the ground it decided it wanted to show off and has been producing wonderful sprays of brightly colored blooms ever since. The color can vary depending upon the season, and so far I've liked all of the variations in color that it's shown. Mine has only been in the ground for just over a year, so I wouldn't want to make any promises on ultimate size, but right now it's roughly 20" high by 3 ft. wide. It looks like it has a tendency to spread somewhat, so I'd give it a bit of space.

P.S. I should add that this rose was bred by Lens in Belgium. And according to the Lens website, it is expected to grow to 60-80 cm, or roughly 2 to 2.6 ft. Allowing for the colder climate in Belgium and based upon what I've seen so far, you should expect it to grow somewhat larger than that in Phoenix. They recommend a planting distance of four per meter squared. One meter squared is 10.7 square feet, which is roughly 3.3 feet by 3.3 feet. That would be to create a massed impact, when planting several of the same variety. But even then, I'd say that that would be too close in your climate.
