Hi, Katefisher. Did you husband buy Lupe's Buttons at the Sacramento Old City Cemetery rose sale? If so, please contact me directly about some history of that plant. It was grown by the late Col. Mel Hulse, and I have details I'd like to give you.

Hi Cass.

Yes my husband did buy this rose from the Sacramento City Cemetery sale. Since then I have talked a little with Jeri Jennings about the rose and Joseph (husband) said someone explained a bit to him about Mr. Hulse on the day of the sale. I'm very open to learning more however. Please feel free to email me directly at kathrynfisher@netzero.net.

Thank you!

Kate...........

You may want to know a bit more about Mel. Click on the EZINE button to the left on the navigation bar, and you will find a tribute issue dedicated to Mel. there is even a wonderful photo of him standing next to 'Lupe's Buttons'.

Smiles,
Lyn

Thanks Lyn. I will definitely check that out. I'm starting to think this rose needs to be put into greater circulation. I think a lot of people out there would enjoy Lupe's Buttons.
