Small garden -- Our yard is mostly desert plants, but inside the courtyard we grow roses, and associated plants that live with more moisture and better soil.

Southern Nevada is a harsh climate. Not only does it get extremely hot in the summer, but we have at least some freezing times in the winter. And the dry winds are so hard on the plants. The desert plants growing in the yard are each interesting, have beautiful moments, and are sturdy. I have included pictures of the non-rose plants with my garden pictures.

While our roses are spectacular in April, they suffer during the summer, and look terrible. I will try to include some of the summer pictures as the season progresses so that you can see what I mean. Since roses are, well, roses, they pop back in the Fall and turn beautiful again. I usually have at lest a few roses for Christmas!
