The roses noted in the Appendix for 1891 at pp. 500-501 are listed because these roses were likely to have been grown in California and may still be found in abandoned gardens and homesteads. The original article was a reprint of an essay written by Horace G. Pratt presented to the State Floral Society, 1890.
