Well, I've never see Voluptuous! in person before, but after reading your question I went back to look at photos & comments of her. It certainly seems that she is very, very close in appearance to my Electron. I wouldn't call Electron just "pink"--it's a screaming understatement. Like someone else said on Voluptuous!, you need sunglasses to look at it.

thank you, for answering me and the information. I think Electron would be a nice addition to my rose garden. Even if it is a little close to voluptuous, iam sure i would luv the bright color. I will get out my sunglasses! LOL

The Montreal Botanical Garden continues to recommend this rose as resistant to blackspot, powdery mildew, and rust:

I would swear that Electron glows in the dark at night. I planted this rose in May, and it has had better than average resistance to blackspot here in Central Illinois. The blooms go a little faster than I'd like, but certainly not disappointing. They have been lasting a week, on average, on the bush. They last longer if you count the 2 to 3 days it takes to open fully. It has a strong scent for me, with it being the 2nd most fragrant among my 15 roses, topped only by World War II Memorial. I would describe the color as neon pink; not as deep or red as some of the deep pinks, but certainly very clear and bright. Reminds me of the dianthus variety "Neon Star". The bloom form has been absolutely perfect so far. The only misshapen bloom was when I first purchased the plant, probably due to a little transplanting grief.

Electron is one of our 'no problem' roses. Pink is not a favorite color with me. Electron is planted next to Chicago Peace and they are one of my favorite pairings. Only problem with Electron isn't with the rose. Leafcutter bees really like using it for building material. Sometimes almost every leaf has scallops in it. Foliage is thick and that is a lot of leaves. Growth is vigorous and pretty soon the damage isn't very noticeable. Electron gives us 30 - 50 blooms per flush and turnaround time is average, about 6 weeks. Fragrance is moderate to a little on the strong side. Blooms open slowly and last over a week. Deb uses them a lot in bouquets.

Electron gets 3 - 4 feet tall and wide here. It has excellent foliage. It is not cane hardy. It did survive a couple winters before I protected our roses. I don't mound the rascal because it gets too large if I do. New growth starts late but is very vigorous once it gets going.

Blackspot is not a problem here. Never have seen powdery mildew on it. Very good rose, if visitors ask about which pink rose they should try in our area, Electron is the rose I recommend.

Hi Dave,

What a coincidence. My Electron tree rose is just behind, and to the right of one of my Chicago Peace roses. You're right, they do look great together.
