From the names of these roses it can be presumed that they are of British origin, and we find them rarely mentioned in many foreign catalogues:

The Ayrshire Rose. (Rosa arvensis hybrida)
Bennet's Seedling* is a new variety, found growing among some briars, by a gardener, of the name of Bennet, in Nottinghamshire. It is said to be a very pretty double and fragrant rose.
