Bloom:

Rose-pink. Strong, damask fragrance. up to 55 petals. Average diameter 4.75". Very large, very full (41+ petals), old-fashioned, quartered bloom form. Spring or summer flush with scattered later bloom.

Habit:

Height: 3' to 5' (90 to 150cm). Width: 2' to 4' (60 to 120cm).

Growing:

USDA zone 4b through 8b.

Notes:

There is some confusion between this rose and 'Mme. Boll'. (See references under both varieties for more information.) 'Comte de Chambord' in gardens and commerce is said to be 'Madame Boll'. See.

The Swedish Rose Society recommends Comte de Chambord for northern Sweden.

Sam Kedem says this rose blooms the best during cool weather.

When in Adelaide last year, the WFRS declared this rose to be included into their "Hall of Fame" roses. This is the description they provided.

A Damask/Portland Hybrid Perpetual, bred in 1863 by Moreau - Robert, France. Old French classic style blooms, sometimes quartered, rose pink, very fragrant. Repeat flowering throughout the summer months. Comact, neat green foliage.
