Lavaglut is one of my favorite roses. It blooms prolifically; the blooms are amazingly dark red and do not fade in my hot zone 6 sun. The blooms last extremely long on the vase and on the bush. They look so good for so long, that frequently I only know when it is time to dead head, because I brush against the bush and the petals fall off. The only weakness I can see, if that it only has the slightest of scents. But, even with that in mind, this is a winner. Add this one to your garden

Thank you for posting this comment. I have updated the rose page to show that this rose re-blooms very well and is heat tolerant.

Smiles,

This is the second year for Lavaglut in a pot by the door. It has exquisite color, very dark velvety red. There is a tendency to burn in 90+ heat and direct sun. The plant blooms almost constantly from April to February (in San Diego). The sprays are my favorite to build bouquets around because they don't wilt or drop petals for over a week in the vase. Disease resistance is very good. I have had to treat for spider mites. My favorite of the 20 roses I have! (along with Hot Cocoa...and New Dawn...and Outta the Blue...and...)

This rose is fantastic. It blooms freely and constantly. The blooms last long on the bush and in the vase. It absolutely refuses to fade even in our hot PA summers. I love it
