Introduced in Australia by John Baptist in 1861 as 'Triomphe de l'Exposition'.

Carmine-red, crimson shading, purple edges.  Moderate, sweet fragrance.  55 petals.  Average diameter 5".  Large, full (26-40 petals), borne mostly solitary, in small clusters, flat, quartered bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.

Climbing.  5 to 7 leaflets.  

Height: up to 5' (up to 150cm).
