'Scentimental ™' rose Reviews & Comments

Can anyone tell me how this rose does in the heat? like 90 degrees plus....I live in Dallas, Tx. Someone gave me a potted one and I'm trying to decide if its worthy of my precious garden space.... :-)

It despises heat. Blooms blow in an eyeblink even where cool. Plant in the dappled shade, if possible. Try Rock & Roll instead.

This rose is more pink and white than red and white. Not sure what everyone elses experiences is.

This post is incorrect as you have posted a "Reply" to an existing post instead of adding a new post of your own. What you want to use in this case is the "POST NEW COMMENT button found next to the My HMF just under the tabs.
Using the REPLY button would be appropriate if you could enlighten us about the nursery "Hunters" mentioned in the previous post for this discussion.

Agree with all the previous comments, these roses are highly susceptible to blackspot. I had three of these and have removed two of them as they routinely get decimated by blackspot despite constant spraying and pruning. I tried a Bayer systemic treatment this year and of my 15 rose bushes my remaining Scentimental is the only one with blackspot. Still deliberating whether to keep it, when in full sun the blackspot problem is not as bad as the previous two. Big dense bush, flat foliage, big spring flush and smaller blooms throughout the season.

I live in the San Diego area and bought a scentimental rose about 2 years ago. Last year it didn't do well and I almost got rid of it but then transplanted it and heavily pruned it. I came back as one of the most beautiful roses in my garden, however, it is all red, a light scent and full well formed flower and last well in a vase. Sort of the opposite of what it started out as. Any ideas of what happened?

Perhaps what you are now growing is the rootstock "Scentimental" was budded onto.
