Introduced in Australia by Hazlewood Bros. Pty. Ltd. in 1921 as 'Midnight Sun'.
Introduced in Australia by Kershaw in 1921 as 'Midnight Sun'.

Hybrid Tea.

Bloom:

Dark red. Black shadings which persist on a dark or bright red bloom. Red stamens.. None to mild fragrance. Small to medium, semi-double (9-16 petals), borne mostly solitary bloom form. Blooms in flushes throughout the season. Small buds.

Habit:

Matte, attractive fall color foliage.

Growing:

USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).

Parentage:

Red-Letter Day (hybrid tea, Dickson, 1914) × Star of Queensland

Notes:

The parentage has been reversed in some references.
