Bred by Nola Murray (New Zealand, 1979).

Bloom:
White or white blend.  Cream.  Mild fragrance.  41 petals.  Average diameter 3".  High-centered bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  Pointed buds.  
Habit:
Upright.  Large foliage.  

Height: 39" (100cm).  
Growing:
USDA zone 6b and warmer.  Disease susceptibility: very disease resistant.  Spring Pruning: Remove old canes and dead or diseased wood and cut back canes that cross. In warmer climates, cut back the remaining canes by about one-third. In colder areas, you'll probably find you'll have to prune a little more than that.

Patent status unknown (to HelpMeFind).
Notes:
The name Aorangi was the Maori name given to Mount Cook, the highest mountain in New Zealand. It meant “Cloud Piercer”. The mountain always has snow on its peak.
