Origin:
Bred by Mrs. H.C. Fitzhardinge (1881-1956) (Australia, before 1938).
Introduced in Australia by Hazlewood Bros. Pty. Ltd. in 1939 as 'Governor Phillip'.
Class:
Climber, Hybrid Tea, Cl..  
Bloom:
Ruby-red, flushed darker.  Strong, old rose fragrance.  Large, very double, open bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  Large, long, pointed buds.  
Habit:
Climbing.  Large, glossy, bronze-green, leathery foliage.  
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).  
Patents:
Patent status unknown (to HelpMeFind).
Notes:
Two slightly different parentages have been recorded. Refer 1939 and 2007 references.

‘Kitty Bice’ 1932 (Ophelia Climbing x Lady Waterlow)
‘Lubra’ 1938 (Ophelia Climbing x unknown) x Black Boy.
