Bordesholm/Northern Germany, June 17th, 2017. (In the upper right part near the center, doesn't it look like a small hand holding the petals together?)
March 29, 2016 in Claremont, California. Plant from local rose society auction in 2011. During his first season in my garden, Benny Lopez had rust. Since then his foliage has been disease free (I never spray). Given a little fertilizer this year, the color of the flowers is very vibrant. He is growing next to the Palo Verde 'Desert Museum', which as a nitrogen-fixing plant may also give him a bit of a boost. Around 3 to 3 1/2 feet tall.
