Bloom:
Deep yellow, red edges, ages to red . None / no fragrance. 30 to 36 petals. Average diameter 1.5". Large, full (26-40 petals), borne mostly solitary, cluster-flowered, in small clusters, classic hybrid tea, exhibition, high-centered bloom form. Prolific, blooms in flushes throughout the season.
Habit:
Medium, bushy, compact, upright. Glossy, dark green foliage.
Height: 1' to 22" (30 to 55cm).
Growing:
USDA zone 4b through 11. Can be used for beds and borders, container rose, cut flower, exhibition or garden. Produces decorative hips. shade tolerant. Disease susceptibility: disease resistant, susceptible to blackspot . Spring Pruning: Remove old canes and dead or diseased wood and cut back canes that cross. In warmer climates, cut back the remaining canes by about one-third. In colder areas, you'll probably find you'll have to prune a little more than that.
Breeder's notes:
When grown in full sun the light red on the petals of this rose becomes a dark red, almost completely covering the petals. The flowers first open as a deep yellow, flush with dark red as the flowers open fully and that dark red fades to a pink. The plant usually has all three stages on it at any given time making it look as though there are 3 different roses on the same plant.
(Some people do note a slight fragrance in this rose.)
