Bred by Thomas Cripps and Son (United Kingdom, 1867).
Class:
Group 3, Large-flowered, Late.  
Bloom:
Mauve, red shading, white stamens, brown anthers.  4 to 6 petals.  Average diameter 8".  Single, overlapping, scalloped edge bloom form.  Midsummer to early autumn.  
Habit:

Height: 10' to 12' (305 to 365cm).  
Growing:
USDA zone 4b through 9b.  Plant in sun or partial shade.  Disease susceptibility: mildew.  In early spring, cut back to just above the lowest set of healthy buds.
