9. Clematis serratifolia Rehd. C. orientalis var. serrata Maxim.; C. orientalis var. wilfordii Maxim.; C. sibiricoides Nakai - Ō-waku-note. Scandent subshrub, the nodes and young parts short-pubescent; leaves pinnately biternate, the petioles 4-5 cm. long, the leaflets 3-5 cm. long, 1-3 cm. wide, petiolulate, often irregularly 2- to 3-fid, coarsely toothed, sparingly pubescent on both sides, glaucous, acuminate; peduncles erect, 10-14 cm. long, white-pubescent, with small bracts near base; flowers nodding, broadly campanulate; sepals 2-3 cm. long, about 1 cm. wide, narrowly ovate, gradually narrowed above and acuminate, membranous; stamens 5-7 mm. long, the filaments lanceolate-subulate, silky especially on margin, the anthers 2-2.5 mm. long, yellowish, obmse; achenes ovate, about 2.5 mm. long, pilose, the tail 4.5-5 cm. long, slender, long white-pilose. - Hokkaido (near Wakkanai in Kitami Prov.). - Manchuria, n. Korea, and Ussuri.
