My rose is a few years old and was not growing enthusiastically and blooming occasionally. After last Winter's 2022 - 2023 rain it has doubled in size and it loaded with fragrant blooms. I had been debating about pulling it out; I'm glad I gave it another chance.. I will water it extra this Summer to see if that keep up the vigor.

The David Austin website lists this as "Princess Anne" without the 'e' at the end of Princess as in your entry. The rose is named after HRH the Princess Royal.

Wonderful rose! It made it through a zone 5 Vermont winter with the bottom 2/3's of its many canes green. Planted it last year (Spring 2012). Already covered with leaf buds. Plenty of beautiful blossoms with great repeat. I am loving this rose!

StrawChicago heavy clay zone 5
Bought this as own-root from Regan Nursery, the root is huge. The plant is big & vigorous & healthy, but the blooms are small and the scent is light. Survived zone 5a winter with more than 1.5 feet of green canes. Now having 30 buds as 2nd-year own-root in 4 hours of morning sun.
