The present invention constitutes a new and distinct variety of Clematis which originated from a controlled crossing between the female seed parent, Clematis viticella `Venosa Violacea`, a non-patented variety, and the male parent, an un-named seedling.....`Evipo020` was selected by Raymond J. Evison and Mogens N. Olesen in their Clematis development program in Guernsey, Channel Islands, in July 2000.
