After observing and comparing this rose and Julie Andrew all year long, it is apparent they are related. My estimate is that they are both hybrids of Lasting Love, a rose know to throw bicolors and moody colors, as well as reds. I am guessing the other parent is an older Delbard floribunda in the yellow/bicolor/apricot blend spectrum. When the blooms of Esprit de Paris age, they take on a a pretty mauve tone, which can happen in some Lasting Love hybrids. I think Julie Andrews is also a Lasting Love hybrid, but probably with a large-flowered rose in the yellow/bicolor and apricot blend spectrum. I like them both. I think Esprit ages in a more pretty fashion, whereas JA can wash out when its hot out. Both are good garden performers in the summer rebloom category. I prefer Esprit De Paris though, because the fragrance is strong and unique, and the blooms age more elegantly. hey both have foliage like mirrors, which I assume would come from Lasting Love.
