Catherine Marie has been a good rose for us. She was planted in 1998 and got established quickly. She gives us 25 - 35 blooms per flush. Turnaround time is on the slow side, usually 7 - 8 weeks. Most blooms have good form. Fragrance is moderate at best. Blooms do have good vase life, over a week.

Catherine Marie is not cane hardy for us. She usually has some green cane above the mounding in spring. Spring growth is usually about mid pack, never the first or the last to show new growth. Catherine Marie gets 4 feet tall x 3 - 4 feet wide. Foliage isn't quite as thick and full as I like. She doesn't look lanky just not as thick as I prefer.

Blackspot is not a problem here. Catherine Marie will get powdery mildew pretty bad if neglected.

Dave & Deb,

Exactly the type of information we hoped most everyone would share with HMF. Thanks (again) for taking the time to make these posts.

Our pleasure. Been hoping to see more comments even (especially) if they conflict with our experiences. Our climate and conditions are pretty unique and not many will have the same performance from roses.
