2023 Rudolf W. van der Goot Rose Garden
Personally I found the color too strident even for me in my particular garden plus it had weak growth and dropped its leaves after the first flush. Fragrance wasn't as great as I had read too. I've relocated it to a shadier spot for one more chance and replaced it with Perfumed Breeze!

My garden, May 2022. I do so want to love this rose, but despite my best efforts, I can never get more than a smattering of blooms after the spectacular spring flush. It is also the canary in the coal mine for mildew; always the first to be infected.

I once had four of these growing at various points in the yard, but regardless of care or sun position, I never got more than a few scattered blooms after the first flush. This is the only one I kept, mainly because it is about 90% shade, and few others will flower here, even if it is only in the spring.
