Sidonie has fantastic winter survival in my zone 4 garden, needing no pruning this spring, and is covered in buds! Last year it had good repeat throughout the summer and fall even though it was a first year plant. It is sprawling wider than it is tall but is maintaining a tidy shape without throwing random long canes. The bloom form is adorable and the fragrance is exceptional. This is one of my favorite cold zone roses.

This isn't one of those roses that will be keeling over under the weight of its own blooms, but it does have some very nice traits. In California, it's somewhat resistant to blackspot, rarely shows any trace of mildew, and never gets a speck of rust. It has a somewhat unusual growing habit, tending to spread in a sort of centifolia fashion. It never gets very tall, and can handle living in a pot for an extended period. Some clones, such as the one I grow, are entirely thornless. What flowers it does provide are quite similar to "Portland from Glendora," a suspected relative -- which is to say that they're as good smelling as they are beautiful.
