Are you related to Father Jean André Soulié who discovered Rosa soulieana?

Well it's possible since I come from the same area in Aveyron (France), but I don't know...

I purchased two Annapurna HT's own-root Spring 2010. One of them has done quite well and is growing and blooming vigorously and the other is growing slower. Both are still in containers.
So far I have seen a small amount of BS but no mildew. A light spray of fungicide takes care of the Bs with no problems. The foliage is a nice shiny dark green and makes a nice backdrop for the ice white blooms.
The blooms are unaffected by wind and rain as I see no sign of spotting which is remarkable for a white rose. The fragrance is quite strong and very nice--probably the best of all my white HT's.

yes Annapurna stands perfectly rain, that's exeptional for a white rose. Perfume is very strong (citrus). Many awards in Europe. For me the best white rose.

I just added a picture of a bloom of this rose after a hard shower we had here and under cloudy skies so it's not as bright white in the picture. It does hold up to rain and has had no brown spots that I've ever noticed like other whites from rain/heavy dew. The fragrance is wonderful.

I am gardening in Central Texas, USA

Anapurna is only a 2nd year plant for me on its own roots. It has been a wonderful addition to the garden. It has a wonderfully rounded habilt, manageable size, beautiful foliage, and fragrant white-white flowers. It stands up to both heat and rain (I cannot speak to its tolerance for cold). It will get black spot - though so far it has been unintimidated by the disease. It benefits from some preventive measures in the spring.

The pollen is fertile and it has set seed. There were very few seeds produced, and hip set was very low.
