I don't grow About Face so can't rate it's cold hardiness but would like to note that I've seen it at Uncanoonuc Mountain display garden in Goffstown NH, which is zone 5B, probably a bit colder since it's atop a mountain. The plants are robust and healthy, over 5' tall. They're blooming profusely in early August, and blossoms looking fine a day after a heavy rainstorm.

I first saw this rose at the rose garden in Balboa Park, San Diego, California. They had lots of bushes which were in full bloom at the time. I fell in love with the rose. The color is amazing. The darker exterior makes it unique. I planted a single bush in February 2013. It produced some roses throughout the season. I expect it will take another season before it will bloom like the bushes I saw in San Diego. During the summer the blooms were smaller, but still a rich color. It seems to take our dry heat well. I am having insect problems, but it is not limited to this rose variety. Once it is full size, I believe this rose is going to be a stand out.

This rose thrives in a dry, hot summer climate with no die-back of its 6' tall bush in the winter, where many other roses die nearly to the ground. (I don't winter-protect.) It seems to always be covered with beautiful blooms. This rose is a stand-out in my garden.
