This peony blooms several weeks earlier than the common lactiflora peonies. It is often one of the first to bloom in my garden. The fine textured foliage makes it a good landscape plant, although it sometimes gets a little floppy late in the season.

I have seen over the past years that our P. smouthii has two subsequent blooming periods of two weeks each (influenced by the parents?). How does yours bloom?
