I recently visited to purchase a few plants and it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience. They are very knowledgeable and they truly care about roses and rose gardeners. Their spring and fall events are also fun.

I recently had a thoroughly pleasant experience, being welcomed to Russian River Roses to make a few purchases. I called to make sure I could come on a weekday and a mutually agreeable time was arranged. The visit to this gorgeous collection was completed with a few more big, lush, healthy own-root plant purchases than I'd planned; couldn't resist. Fascinating additional items, which are available through the website, are the rose water and eau-de-toilette, distilled from certain roses grown on-site. I sampled the eau-de-toilette and it was like wearing a damask rose on my wrist for the remainder of the day! Very nice!

When visiting their website today (Aug 20, 2008) I noticed that they are no longer in the rose mail order business.

Hi!
While we do not ship roses, we have a very large nursery, filled with roses and companion perennials that is OPEN in the spring and fall, and by appointment. We are within 1 hour's drive of millions of people, and welcome visitors to the garden and nursery.
We do not ship because our plants are very large, vigorous and ready to plant, and stuffing them in a box would hurt them and us!
