There may be a 10 year discrepancy in the bred date of ‘Ducher’. Refer the 2012 reference which indicates it was bred before 1859.

Patricia, did you also notice the photo of the tag that David Elliot posted from Parc de la Tête d'Or, Lyon France? At least 1865.

I didn’t notice that Lee H, but thank you.
As a ship carrying this rose was despatched from London in 1859, I have changed the bred date from 1969 to before 1859.

If you please, the 1859 tale seems exceedingly dubious to me, at least concerning this white rose named 'Ducher'. We see references positively asserting its obtention by Ducher (see Jamain and Forney, Les Roses, 1873 p. 150, and Revue de l'Horticulture Belge 1887 p. 156, for two instances). Is 'Ducher' actually recorded contemporaneously as in England before 1869? I suspect there is some confusion here somewhere along the line.

"Tea Roses: Old Roses for Warm Climates" suggests that the rose known in Australia as 'Marie Lambert' is known as 'Ducher' in some parts of the US. The description and pictures of either on HMF closely match.

Reference added at last. The lack of comment over the years indicates that the U.S. is fairly happy that “Elias Field Plot“ is in fact ‘Ducher’, and not ‘Marie Lambert’. Thanks again Hamanasu.

3 yr old plant now. It has done nothing but produce for me. Large spring flush of its blooms everywhere. I use it as a mailbox planting and it just engulfed it in white flowers. In my area China's are the first to bloom and the first buds are racing to pop already.

More serious note. This rose does get blackspot. Its not horribly debilitating but it wont achieve as well without a regular spray program. Still blooms just get some black leaves with are kinda ugly.

I spray and Ducher is great for me.
