From 1913 series of Wills's cigarette cards (No 61) Text on reverse of card: RAYON D'OR. (Hybrid Briar.) Introduced in 1910, this is the best yellow rose in existence, and is charming when massed in a bed. In habit of growth it is vigorous and bushy, sending up any quantity of strong flowering shoots from the base, throughout the whole summer. Excellent for cutting and general decorative work. Awarded the Gold Medal of the National Rose Society.
