Pedro Dot. Results of 1924 Rose Hybridization in Spain.
Single-flowered varieties, so appreciated in England, have no value here, and I have discarded many pretty things. However, I kept one which I consider superior and worthy of being known. It is from 'Roger Lambelin' x 'Mme. Edouard Herriot'. This variety is very vigorous, a half-climber, of abundant bloom in spring and autumn, giving flowers of a vivid and brilliant crimson-scarlet, with gold at the base. A similar one I never saw. it is very fragrant and has been named 'Rosella' (Red Poppy). This has been crossed again with other varieties, and I have reason to hope for some pleasing results.
