Indigo Laffay, France c 1830  Good upright bushes with smooth long leaves of good green. Hispid Hep. This is a spectacular rich, dark purple rose, with expanded shape, flushed with dark crimson, showing a few stamens, and occasionally a white streak or mark. Warm scent. Fine display at midsummer and again later. Perhaps the richest and most effective of dark purple roses. 4 feet (Plage 18)
