Origin:
Bred by Eugène Verdier fils aîne (France, 1864).
Introduced in Australia by Perry Brothers, Fulham Grange Nurseries in 1873 as 'Dr. Andry'.
Class:
Hybrid Perpetual.  
Bloom:
Carmine-red, dark red shading.  Strong fragrance.  45 petals.  Average diameter 4.75".  Large, full (26-40 petals), cupped bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  
Habit:
Armed with thorns / prickles.  

Height: 4'11" to 6'7" (150 to 200cm).  Width: 3' (90cm).
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).  Hardy.  a good subject for pegging.  Prune dead wood.
