In an article in the New Zealand Heritage Rose Journal, Ken Nobbs wrote
“Ann Endt is a genuine old rose which Mrs Steen acquired and which she has never seen in her travels overseas.
She thought it might be a cross between R. rugosa and R. foliolosa, an American species. It is too good and striking a rose to be nameless, and so with Ann’s permission and knowing it was a favourite of hers, I had it registered though the National Rose Society.” reported by Ann Chapman - on www.rosarosam.com and her book “Women in my Rose Garden”.
