Pemberton's Roses
A[...] class tending to be hardy, everblooming climbers, originated in England by the Rev. Joseph Pemberton. These are hybrids of Rosa moschata, the Musk Rose, whereas the Lambertianas are Hybrid Multifloras. Captain Thomas’ Roses offered below are similar, partaking of elements from both classes, combined with original traits. These Roses are $1 each for strong, field-grown plants

A brightly colored novelty which provides an interesting color contrast in this class.

Rev. J. H. Pemberton. The Adaptability Of The Rose.
There are, however, some hybrid musks which are more adaptable for planting in clumps, say, three, four or more, according to the size of the bed. Such a one is Sammy, a thornless Rose, essentially a late autumn flowering shrub; colour carmine, flowers semi-single, trusses carried erect. The wood is claret colour. A very free flowering variety.
