Mr. Allan Brundrett, Narre Warren, Vic:
Victoria Adelheid. H.T. (Kordes). This variety shares with 'Lord Lonsdale' the honour of being one of the two best varieties imported this season. It is a seedling from 'Chas P. Kilham' x 'Mev. G. A. Van Rossem', and resembles the latter variety in its gayness of colour. It is extremely difficult to describe, and the raiser’s description does not do it justice. My best effort would be to describe it as a 'Mev. G. A. Van Rossem' combination of colours with the gold predominating. It is not always the same colour, and sometimes approaches 'Angele Pernet' in colour. The blooms open cleanly and are held very erect on the peduncle.

Harry H. Hazlewood.  The New Roses of 1934. A similar fate seems to be indicated for' Viktoria Adelheid (Kordes). This is after the style of 'Marion Cran' and 'Portadown Bedder', but growth seems weak. Brisbane and Sydney growers should be careful, as it does not look happy here.
Website/Catalog  (1934)  Page(s) 37.

New Roses 1934.  Viktoria Adelheid (HT.  W. Kordes Sohne 1932) 'Chas. P. Kilham' x 'Mev. G. A. Van Rossem'.  Bud thick, oval, opening slowly to a very large, full bloom of 40 petals. The colour is deep golden yellow, reverse pure yellow, inverse a capucine red on deep golden yellow. With the opening of the bloom the red will increase so that at last only a golden centre is left. Strong, upright and bushy growth and free blooming. Scented. 4/- each.
A very beautiful variety, but we are afraid it will only be suitable for the dry inland areas.
