The other introduction made in conjunction with Pechtold was also of small size and good form in an orange salmon colour.
It was called 'Souvenir de Jacques Verschuren' ('Katharine Pechtold' x 'Orange Delight') and was awarded a C. of M. in 1951. Again, it was a rose which was highly suitable for the artistic classes but, unfortunately, its constitution proved to be suspect in this country and it had a susceptibility to Black Spot. Consequently it disappeared from the nurserymen's lists fairly quickly, but on its day it was a rose of great beauty and charm.
