Re the Notes for 'Distinction'
'In their 2002 Catalogue, Pépinières Loubert lists the Polyantha 'Distinction', which they say is a sport of 'Joseph Guy', but attribute the breeder to Bennett.'

Possibly they are confused between the 1882 apricot HT 'Distinction' bred by Bennett.
and the 1927 deep pink flori 'Distinction' bred by Turbat.

I am confused between
the 1927 deep pink flori 'Distinction' bred by Turbat. (sport of 'Joseph Guy' aka 'Lafayette') and
the 1930 deep pink flori 'Frau Astrid Spath' bred by Spath (sport of 'Lafayette')

Baronne de la Roche, Antwerp, Belgium, writing in the 1971 Australian Rose Annual, page 98 writes:
"Two older, but quite good cultivars, namely 'Frau Astrid Spath' (Distinction) and 'Lafayette' (Joseph Guy) are still widely used in public plantations."

That is sounding as though the 1927 and the 1930 roses are one and the same.
