Dr. Franchesci produced a few Gigantea hybrids. His Montecito and Montariosa are the two best known to me. Both are seedlings of R. moschata [brunonii] by R. gigantea, and both show very dominantly the musk character.

Mit ihren riesigen rahmfarbenen Blumen sollte sie für Kreuzungen wertvoll sein, doch ist sie bei uns noch nicht zur Genüge erprobt. In Kalifornien hat Franceschi prächtige Sorten durch Kreuzung mit moschata erhalten, von denen Madeleine Lemoine, Montarioso und Montecito hervorgehoben werden. Sie sollen die Üppigkeit und Blattschönheit der gigantea mit dem Blütenreichtum der moschata vereinigen und hervorragend wirken.

Translation:
...the magnificent rambler R. gigantea is unfortunately only suitable for us in the Mediterranean climate. With its huge, cream-colored flowers, it should be valuable for crossbreeding, but we have not yet tried it sufficiently. In California, Franceschi has obtained magnificent varieties by crossing with moschata, of which Madeleine Lemoine, Montarioso and Montecito stand out. They are said to combine the lushness and beauty of the foliage of the gigantea with the abundance of flowers of the moschata and have an excellent effect.
