Concerning ancestry, 'Cracker' is said to be a “Hybrid of species” in vol. 3 of the Joint Volumes of Papers Presented to the Legislative Council, New South Wales, 1921, p. 836.

For your references: Lambert's catalog of 1930 (p. 36), has:

" [the ditto indicating "Climbing"] CRACKER (Alister Clark 27). Blume mittelgroß, einfach rot

Reference added, thank you! Lambert has Climbing Cracker in the index of his 1928 catalogue, but it is not listed inside.
