"Juliette rose Reviews & Comments

Having watched my plant of 'Juliette' for a number of years and compared it with nearby plants of 'Chi Long Han Zhu' I find that it is consistently smaller in stature with thinner stems but with not much difference in flower size. With support CLHZ can grow cane on cane into an apparent climber 8-12 feet high. 'Juliette' tops out at about 2 feet.

re. "Juliette" Juliette is a found rose reintroduced by the Lamb Nursery, of Spokane, WA, before 1958. This small red China was then unknown. It was later found to be 'Chi Long Han Zhu'. It is illustrated in Willmott and incorrectly indentified as 'Slater's Crimson China'. Gordon Rowley, recognizing it was incorrectly identified, renamed it "Miss Willmott's Crimson China". It has also been incorrectly distributed as Slater's Crimson, Sanguinea, and Fabvier. Perhaps the same rose which has been in cultivation in the Houston area as "Senorita". Also perhaps the same rose as Paul's 'Red Pet' introduced or reintroduced in 1888. Usually very dwarf as a pot plant, when established in the ground can grow to 6 feet. The correct identity seems to be the Chinese cultivar name 'Chi Long Han Zhu'.
