Bred by Mathias Tantau, Jr. (1912 - 2006) (Germany, before 1956).
Introduced in Germany by Rosen-Tantau/Tantau Roses in 1959 as 'Goldjuwel'.
Introduced in United Kingdom by Wheatcroft Brothers Ltd. in 1959 as 'Golden Jewel'.
Introduced by Unknown (Australia) in 1961 as 'Goldjuwel'.
Introduced in France by NIRP International in 1964 as 'Bijou d'Or'.

Bloom:
Deep yellow.  Strong fragrance.  Average diameter 3".  Full (26-40 petals), cluster-flowered, in small clusters, globular bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  
Habit:
Short.  Glossy, dark green foliage.

USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).
