Rolando Zandri, breeder and former Curatore del Roseto di Roma, informs me that the memorandum of 1940 International Rose Trials of Rome reports. "CONCORSO INTERNAZIONALE PREMIO DI ROMA: Fra i concorrenti Italiani viene assegnato un PRIMO CERTIFICATO DI MERITO al N. 3 corrispondente alla varietà 430 H.T., ottenuta dai FRATELLI GIACOMASSO di Torino, denominata "FLORENTIA", adatta per aiuole, salmone e arancio rifiorentissima" (translation: among the italian competitors is awarded a first certificate of merit to the rose n. 3, i.e. the variety 430 H.T. obtained by Giacomasso Brothers in Turin, named Florentia, suitable for beds, color salmon and orange, very repeating)
The data in this Encyclopedia is not 100% correct. The award is mentioned in Modern Roses. It would be worthwhile to check contemporary Italian publications.
I see if I can find something. There is also a discepancy about the award to Monterosa: a gold medal in 1952 according to HMF and a first certificate according to Giacomasso Bros (see references)
