After 3 years 'Puerto Rico' has proven to be an excellent performer in my Zone 9b yard - healthy and full of lovely blooms. Fragrance is moderate for me, but may improve with age.

The Antique Rose Emporium lists this as a found rose: The fine rosarian, Mrs. Cleo Barnwell, obtained a start of this plant from Jose Marrero in Puerto Rico. Narrower than many Tea bushes in habit, "Puerto Rico" retains the typical good health and sturdy growth of the class. The medium-sized, very fragrant flowers bloom in loose clusters of three, opening from a cupped shape to nearly flat. The color is creamy white with just a hint of apricot-pink, and is a lovely addition to floral arrangements. Fragrance is sweet and clean. 4 to 6 feet Z7-9 R Fr w

Thanks Virginia. We had two files 'Puerto Rico (Tea)' and "Puerto Rico". They are now merged and the reference added. Would you put a date on it please. Now I am wondering if 'Puerto Rico Shell Pink Noisette' is the same as well. There is almost nothing to go on though.
Sigh..... I've just seen my Oct 30, 2014 posting

I have added references to “Puerto Rico” http://www.helpmefind.com/rose/l.php?l=2.32065&tab=1
and would now like to merge ‘Puerto Rico (Tea)’ http://www.helpmefind.com/rose/l.php?l=2.5014
with “Maitland White”, Bermuda. http://www.helpmefind.com/gardening/l.php?l=2.20366
However, the mentions of hybrid musk is concerning me. It seems as though the rose (if they are all the same) might be an early hybrid tea. I know there is a another recent book published (and which I do not yet have) on the Bermuda roses. Is there anything in this new book that is pertinent to these roses?

I purchased this rose through Hartwood Roses as a Hybrid Musk, not a Tea...is this correct?

You might want to check in with Hartwood Roses with your question. There seems to be a well referenced Floribunda by the name of Puerto Rico and a non-very-well referenced Tea by that name, but so far nothing I have seen references a Hybrid Musk by that name. Let us know what your research turns up.
