Hi HMFers,

the rose 'Burg Baden' was not bred by Bruno Müller, but by Wilhelm Kordes II, as Müller himself states in an article he wrote about Kordes in "Der Rosenbogen" No. 2-83, page 80.

Kordes first did not want to introduce the rose, the flowers not being double, and in 1958 gave the seedling to Müller, a former apprentice of his. Müller planted several against a castle wall in the town of Badenweiler, where he obviously was responsible for such plantings. The plants performed extremely well and Müller gave propagation material back zu Reimer Kordes, who eventually introduced 'Burg Baden' in the 1980es.
