C’est par son feuillage ténu mais très fourni, son port ample aux tiges souples et peu épineuses, que ce rosier se distingue le plus… Cette variété, qui tolère l’ombre, est tout à fait recommander pour habiller un pilier et même pour s’accrocher à un arbre (c’est d’ailleurs ainsi que l’utilisait Vita Sackville West dans son célèbre jardin de Sissinghurst)…

The exception is north of the notches where winter protection is a must for all but the Spinosissimas and a very few others. Here are the ten best once-flowering roses—in no particular order. Madame Plantier. Alba. 1835. Flowers white, changing from pure white to creamy, very double. Does extremely well on its own roots. Bush large, good for stone walls—it scrambles.
