Bred by Mathias Tantau (1882 - 1953) (Germany, 1930).
Introduced in United States by Conard-Pyle (Star Roses) in 1933 as 'Stämmler'.

Bloom:
Rose-pink.  Strong fragrance.  Large, moderately full, borne mostly solitary, in small clusters, high-centered bloom form.  Occasional repeat later in the season.  
Habit:
Upright, well-branched.  Glossy foliage.  

Height: up to 4'11" (up to 150cm).  
Growing:
USDA zone 4b through 9b.  Hardy.
