I have this rose and it's color is more pink/red (this is also happening to my other 3 roses). Why? My soil is sandy, but I did add peat when planting as well as a banana and some eggshells! Also, what do I need to do to prepare it for winter (zone 5)?? This was given to me as a gift so I do not know where it was purchased (my guess somewhere relatively cheap not a nursery). Thanks!

You'd have to explain the color change a bit better for us to be of much help. There could be a number of explainations.
Wintering; How did you plant the rose? Is the bud union (nobby part where canes come from) at or below soil level? If it's not planted deep 3-4" below soil, then you are going to want to mound the bush with compost, or soil from another part of the yard to about 12" or so. If the bud union freezes, you'll lose the rose. If you planted it deep, then mound it with straw or leaves to protect the lower part of the bush. Note; some roses won't survive a zone 5 winter no matter what you do. I'm not familiar with this one so I don't know if it will or not.

Do you know how "Anastasia" will react to rainy weather? I read contradiction from 2 sources: Konemann encyclopédia say: bad reaction and spots on petals, and from an another source good resistance to rain. What are your experience about this question? Thank You M.-A Huberlant
