'Apricot Delight' (ATTlight) Attfield 1998. FI. ('Delightful Lady' x 'Hot Chocolate') 40 reports, 50 plants. Garden: 7.5, Exhibition: 7.5: height tall, healthy, no fragrance. Apricot coloured blooms, holds colour. Tall growth may be treated as a shrub rose. More blooms in spring than summer, tends to make vegetative growth in summer.

Hayden Foulds. Rose Breeding in New Zealand. Brian Attfield of Cambridge is another breeder aiming for exhibition roses in his breeding work..... Crossing 'Delightful Lady' with 'Hot Chocolate' produced 'Apricot Delight' (ATTlight) which is a tall growing shrub/floribunda producing classic apricot coloured blooms. It's been very popular with exhibitors as a small stem in NZ.

'Apricot Delight' (ATTlight). Attfield 1999. Garden rating 7.4. Exhibition rating 7.7. 6 bushes, 4 reports. Disease resistant. No fragrance. Tall. Apricot flowers. Waitkato loves the colour, gives great small stems and is lovely in a vase. Grown as a small climber, makes an amazing sight in spring. North Otago - lovely pale apricot colour, tall grower with open appearance. Can make a lovely vase and good small stems. Another Waitkato grower - very tall growing, have been a bit disappointed in these roses (3) still waiting for improvement. Makes reasonable small stems.

'Apricot Delight' (Shrub). (ATTlight Attfield 1999: Garden rating 7.3, Exhibition rating 7.2: 8 bushes, 8 reports. Disease resistant. No fragrance: Tall: Apricot flowers. A good number of reports said that this was a shrub rose but according to some catalogues it is a floribunda. Marlborough - tall rather spindly plant; makes nice small stems. Is healthy but slow repeat, attractive colour. Gisborne - is not at all impressed; hardly any flowers. Waikato says after the first flush flowers are sparse, better grown against a fence or arch. Lovely small stems. North Otago - tall upright growth, good colour a recommended garden rose. Otago - fabulous substance to every flower and such a delicate and pretty colour.

'Apricot Delight' (ATTlight) Attfield 1998; 'Delightful Lady' x 'Hot Chocolate'. 7 reports on 9 bushes; 1-5 years; 1.5 metres; 7.4 rating. Flowers are apricot. Waikato likes the form and the colour. Slow repeat. Has no vices but it grows big. Makes lovely small stems in the spring. North Otago loves the colour and a good show rose with excellent form. Good repeat. Refined growth so even the large heads are not heavy. Otorohanga say some good heads and some single stems. Gisborne finds the flowers blow quickly and repeat is slow. Marlborough find it grows long. The colour holds and not too many blooms after the spring, but small stems are good on the show bench.

'Apricot Delight' (ATTlight) Attfield 1998; 'Delightful Lady' x 'Hot Chocolate'; flowers are apricot; 10 reports on 14 bushes; 1-4 years; 1.6 metres; 7.6 rating. Waikato likes the form and the good repeat. Has no vices but it grows big, you can even treat it as a climber. Makes very good small stems for the show. North Otago loves the colour and a good show rose with excellent form. Good repeat. Otorohanga finds it healthy with good repeat and a lovely colour. Central Otago finds it excellent for small stems with beautiful petal texture. Marlborough find it grows long. The colour holds but not too many blooms after the spring. But small stems are good on the show bench.

'Apricot Delight' (ATTlight); Attfield 1998; 'Delightful Lady' x 'Hot Chocolate'; apricot flowers; 5 reports on 5 bushes; 1-3 years; 1.6 metres; 7.7 rating. Waikato likes the form and the good repeat. Has no vices, but it grows big. You can even treat it as a climber. North Otago finds it healthy and extremely tall, and perhaps a big leggy. Another North Otago grower loves the colour, but not too many blooms after the first flush. Southland like the good healthy foliage. Blooms are a lovely colour but a bit loose when fully open. Another Waikato grower moved the bush to grow as a climber. Superb small stem with lovely colour in the spring.

'Apricot Delight' (ATTlight) Attfield 1998. 'Delightful Lady' x 'Hot Chocolate'; apricot; 6 reports on 8 bushes; 2 years; 2.4 metres; 7.4 rating. A tall growing HT type of floribunda. Nelson says grown like a climber and spreading. Perfect blooms in abundance, fades quickly. Waikato says superb small stems in the spring with lovely fresh colour. In summer the blooms are smaller and the bush puts all its energy into growing. Another Waikato reporter thinks you can treat the long canes as a climber. Auckland reports tall grower 2/3 blooms per stem. Blooms are weatherproof. Plant is healthy with ample basal shoots.
